The critical care units at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are renowned for local and national contributions to critical care, as well as for consistently delivering high standards of clinical care.

 

 

The critical care education team provides structured support to all staff and runs development programmes that are well established. The formal education package follows a structured career pathway which includes induction training and an in-house Foundation to Critical Care Nursing programme and Leadership programme.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent English level;
  • NMC Registered/ Possibility to complete the register;
  • EU nursing degree;
  • Excellent Team spirit;
  • Understanding of personal accountability.

 

THE ROLE:

The nurse will be responsible for the assessment of critically ill patients' (levels two and three) needs as well as for the development, implementation and evaluation of planned programmes of care. The nurse will manage the high dependency unit with support from a senior nurse and lead a small team of nurses in providing a high standard of individualized nursing care in accordance with agreed policies.
